Diego Luna and cast at the Andor Season 2 LA launch event, April 2025

Andor Season 2 (2025) Launch Event Brings the Rebellion to Los Angeles

The galaxy’s most grounded and gripping Star Wars story returned to the spotlight on April 22, 2025, as Lucasfilm and Disney hosted the official launch event for Andor Season 2 in Los Angeles. With the full cast and creative team in attendance, the evening celebrated the continuation of Cassian Andor’s journey toward rebellion, ahead of the season premiere on Disney+.

Diego Luna Leads a Passionate Cast

Star and executive producer Diego Luna walked the carpet with fellow returning cast members Adria Arjona (Bix Caleen), Denise Gough (Deedra Meero), Kyle Soller (Syril Karn), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma), and Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera).

During interviews, Luna emphasized that the second and final season brings Cassian’s arc full circle, directly aligning with the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Arjona called Bix’s arc “an emotional unraveling,” while Gough noted that Season 2 explores the psychological toll of authoritarianism on all sides of the conflict.

Tony Gilroy and Team Talk Scope and Legacy

Showrunner and creator Tony Gilroy was joined by his brother Dan Gilroy (writer) and John Gilroy (editor and executive producer), as well as Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. Tony described the new season as “structured chaos,” designed to highlight the escalating tension in the galaxy as the Rebellion grows more organized—and more dangerous.

Behind-the-scenes figures like composer Brandon Roberts, supervising sound editor Margit Pfeiffer, and music supervisor John Finklea discussed the detailed craftwork that went into building Andor’s immersive world, from sound design to score.

A Star Wars Story That Stands Alone

Andor has long stood apart from other Star Wars content thanks to its focus on espionage, political drama, and human resilience. The second season continues to avoid Jedi and Sith tropes, instead building a tense, character-driven narrative that puts morality and rebellion under a microscope.

Filmed across Europe and using extensive practical sets, Season 2 promises a cinematic finale to a story that has already redefined the boundaries of Star Wars storytelling.
